    ISB Technical Group on Footwear Biomechanics Fourth Symposium
    Second Announcement and Call For Papers

    August 5 – 7, 1999
    Greenwood Inn, Canmore, Canada

    The Fourth Symposium of the Technical Group on Footwear Biomechanics will be
    held August 5-7, 1999 in Canmore, Canada. Canmore is a small town of 9000
    inhabitants located in the Rocky Mountains approximately 100 km west of
    Calgary.

    Following on successful previous meetings in Calgary, Cologne and Tokyo the
    Symposium will include invited speakers, free communication and discussion
    forums. The symposium will directly preceed the International Society of
    Biomechanics XVIIth Congress being held from August 8-13, in Calgary.

    The conference site is the Greenwood Inn in Canmore. Discounted room rates
    are available for conference participants. Room descriptions are available
    on the hotel website and room rates are listed on the registration form (see
    the conference website listed below).

    Submission of Papers
    A short 2-page paper should be submitted by March 31, 1999. The young
    investigator award is open to researchers up to the age of 35. An
    application letter should accompany those papers, entering the competition.
    No formal application is necessary for the Nike Basic Research Award and the
    Adidas Applied Research Award. All other submitted papers, except for the
    invited and special seminar lectures, automatically enter the competition
    for these awards. All papers (Word RTF-Format / MAC or IBM) should be sent
    as attachments via e-mail to:
