I only know of three research articles that directly investigated the
squat. I don't know of any articles that focuses on the leg press.
1. McLaughlin, et al. (1979). Kinetics of the parallel squat. Research
Quarterly, 49(5) pp.
175-89.
2. McLaughlin, et al. (1977). A kinematic model of performance in the
parallel squat by
champion power lifters. Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise,
9 pp. 128-133.
3. O'Shea (1985). The parallel squat. Journal of Strength and
Conditioning Association,
15(5) pp. 192-195.
I compared the kinematics of the squat and deadlift in a research
study. I have data that might be useful, but can you be more specific in
what your interested in and what your study is focusing on. Please reply.
