  • Fuji film analysis

    Dear subscribers,
for intraarticular measurements in the talocrural joint we want to use
Fuji prescale film. For the analysis we do not have access to a
previously available digital image analysis system anymore. We know that
there is the possibility to use a scanner in combination with software
like 'NiH image', 'Osiris' to do the same. We also know the Biomch-L
archive about digital image analysis software.
Our questions to the group are:
    1) Has anybody of you experience with using a scanner and a freeware/
shareware software in evaluating Fuji prescale films (the parameters we
need are area, mean grey level, histogramm of grey values and a method
for threshold settings to select the area of interest)?
    2) Which software is best? Any experiences? Where can we get this
    software (for PC)?
    3) Is somebody willing to share his/her own or modified suitable
    software solution for this purpose?

Thank you in advance for your help,
    Eric Eils
