  • ME/CFS server @ cu.nih.gov

    Dear list readers,

Further to my recent Biomch-L postings on the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, here
is some information about various files on the subject that can be retrieved
from SERVER@NIHCU.BITNET or from SERVER@CU.NIH.GOV with a command

    GET FTP CFS.filename

in the Subject: line of an otherwise empty email message. Alternatively,
they can be retrieved via anonymous ftp.

NIHCU.BITNET/CU.NIH.GOV is one of the BITNET/Internet computers at the USA's
National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. By way of example, the INDEX
below can be retrieved with the command GET FTP CFS.INDEX .

The (annotated) Science 1991/12 article is particularly interesting: the
US Congress, "urged on by effective lobbying from patient-advocate groups,
has encouraged the federal government to enhance its spending of CFS consider-
ably -- from next to nothing three years ago to little more than $6 million"
    in 1992.

    Regards -- hjw.
