    AIM: The seminar aims to bring together surgeons, therapists and engineers
    to share and combine new knowledge relating to function and surgical replace-
    ment of the jonits of the upper limb

    SCOPE: Papers are invited to cover one or more of the following subjects:
    o Clinical Evaluation of Joint Prostheses
    o New Designs of Joint Prostheses
    o Biomechanical Analysis of Muscle and Joint Forces
    o Stress Analysis of Implant Assemblies
    o Measurement of Joint Motion and Strength
    o Analysis of Industrial, Domestic and Sport Activities
    o Electromyographic Studies of Functional Activities
    o Assessment of Procedures for Therapy Regimes
    o Joint Kinematics (Centre of Rotation, etc.)
    o Repetitive Tasks and Overuse Injuries

    CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
    Synopses of papers comprising up to 250 words should be sent with full address
    details (Name, Job Title, Organisation, Address, Postal Code, Country, Fax,
    Telephone incl. extension, and optionally email address) by September 1992.
    Selected authors will be invited to submit papers of a maximum of 3000 words
    in length and up to 6 illustrations by January 1993. The Seminar will be
    written and presented in English. All offers of papers will be considered,
    but final acceptance will be based on the content of the paper and subject to
    its receipt by January 1993. Suggestions for other potential contributors
    and delegates are welcomed.

    Papers accepted for presentation will be published by the IMechE in a bound
    volume and issued to the delegates before the seminar. The volume will be
    made available for general sale after the event.

    The presenting author for each paper will be entitled to a substantial reduc-
    tion in the delegate fee.

    Papers presented at the Seminar and considered by the Committee to be of
    special merit may be nominated for the appropriate awards.
