We are having trouble locating small quantities of infrared LEDs to use
with the Optotrak 3020 motion analysis system. Previously we had
purchased Siemens/Infineon LD242-3 LEDs, but all of the distributors are
out of stock and require a minimum order of 1000 pieces. We need about
60 of them. Does anyone know of either a source for small amounts of
these LEDs, or a substitute LED to use?
We know that Northern Digital, which sells the Optotrak system, sells their
own LED markers in small quantities, but they are approximately five times
more expensive than the Siemens LEDs we had purchased previously and used
quite successfully ($9.50 each vs. $2 each).
