Research Assistant

The School of Exercise Science and Sport Management is seeking a highly
motivated, skilled individual for the position of Research Assistant in our
ongoing research projects on exercise and ageing.
The Research Assistant will carry out strength testing, data analysis and
collation. This may include:
1) Recruitment of subjects, administering informed consent documents,
perform tests of muscle strength and power on human subjects, recording the
data using a computer.
2) Perform analysis of EMG, force and displacement data collected during
testing.
3) Tabulate the results into a spreadsheet.
Essential Criteria:
Earned undergraduate degree in exercise science or human movement.
Experience with computers in the Windows environment and Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Criteria:
Postgraduate degree in exercise science or human movement preferably with a
major in biomechanics or physiology and experience in the neuromuscular
testing of human subjects.
The appointment will be on a fixed term contract for a period of 5 months
for a salary of approximately $AU18,000. Due to visa restrictions only
Australian or New Zealand citizens are eligible.
