  • Effects of mats on back and leg fatigue

    Dear Subscribers,

"It is quite common for workers to complain of discomfort in the back and
    legs, as a result of prolonged standing" ( J.Y. Kim, C Stuart-Buttle and W S
Marras - Applied Ergonomics 1994, 25 (1) 29-34.I do have the same opinion,
and so do has the majority of the workers of the assembly plant where I
    work.
I know that the right ergonomic action would be "stop the standing posture"
and maybe "seat the worker for a while"...But it is impossible! So I'll have
to try other solutions, like "MATS". But until now, I have not the enough
information to decide if - generally speaking - mats do reduce back and legs
    fatigue.
Does anyone have recent data about this issue?

    Thank YOU.

    Kind regards,
    Carlos Fujão
