The Department of Kinesiology & Health Studies at Southeastern Louisiana
University seeks applicants for an Instructor/Assistant Professor position
available August 16, 1999. Qualifications include earned doctorate or ABD
in Kinesiology with specialization in Motor Behavior with emphases in Motor
Learning/Control and Biomechanics. Preference given to candidates with
university teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, and ability
to prepare grant applications.
Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting
research in area(s) of expertise, advising undergraduate students and
serving on master's theses committees, providing service to the academic,
professional, and local communities, and procuring external funding.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Review of
applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is
filled.
Southeastern Louisiana University is a comprehensive regional university,
enrolling 15,000 students, located in the city of Hammond (halfway between
and within an hour drive of Baton Rouge and New Orleans). The Department
of Kinesiology & Health Studies serves approximately 500 undergraduates
pursuing undergraduate degrees in Teacher Education, Health Promotion &
Exercise Science, Sport Management, Athletic Training, and Dance; and 40
graduate students pursuing M.A. degrees in Exercise Science, Health
