Middlesex University, Enfield, run a 4 year BSc in Sport and
Performance Therapy (still in its infancy). We have two posts
currently being advertised, one of which may interest those
with a strength in biomechanics.
> Post 1: Senior Lecturer in Sports Science and Coaching (Biomechanics)

> A relevant postgraduate qualification
A publication record and ability to contribute to the next RAE
Teaching qualification/experience sports science/caoching

> Ongoing research in the field of sports science or sports medicine

> Coaching qualification in a mainstream sport such as athletics,

> Graduate or postgraduate qualification in physiotherapy

> Diploma of sports physiotherapy

> Qualification in sports massage with experience
> Knowledge of sports first aid
> knowledge of the prevention and treatment of sports injuries

We currently have two laboratories at Enfield, one wet & one dry, and
are just in the process of equipping them for biomechanics and
kinesiology. We have also linked with University College London for
a future development at the Archway site, North London, (attached
to the Whittington Hospital). We plan a centre for human
performance at this site and another for rehabilitation. New staff
members with an interest in human performance, testing and research
would have an opportunity to join us in the development of this lab
and in the development of both academic and commercial activities.
The closing date for applications is July 15 1999 and salaries are in
the region of :
Lecturer 14,500 to 24, 300 plus London weighting
Senior Lecturer 22, 300 to 29, 400 plus London weighting
