Dear all biomchl-ers,
We are currently thinking of effective ways of
assessing the different types of patella taping mechanisms for
"jumpers knee"/patella tendonitis.
Can anyone recommend past or current reference literature, or methods
of investigation of this type of product which is currently on the
market.
Also does anyone know of a small pressure transducer which could be
used to relate the stiffness of the elastic taping to the pressure on
the patella tendon, i.e. a device which could be inserted between the
tape and the skin?
This research would be particularly applicable to sports medicine and
biomechanics, e.g., for basketball.
Any direct responses would be applicable to the following email
address:
rhys.thomas@virgin.net
Many Thanks in advance,
Cathy Holt
