  • RESOURCE: DATABASES: Toxline and Aidsline

I was asked about the availability of AIDSLINE and TOXLINE by a
client and thought some of you might be interested in what I found out
about their availability. I am certain that others on this list may have
additional information or resources that they know of where these
databases are available and may wish to add to my comments.

Both Aidsline and Toxline are databases that are provided by the
National Library of Medicine, as is Medline. Aidsline is available from
the fee based OVID searching service.

There are a number of free Medline searching services on the web and one
or more of them may have Toxline as well as Medline, you would need to
check them to see if that database is included at any of those sites.
The list below is a group of websites that have free Medline access.

In addition, Dialog Information Services does have Toxline in its
lineup of databases in the "Classic Dialog" searching service. It is
Dialog File 156 and the fee based Classic Dialog is available at

    http://www.dialogclassic.com/

I hope this information will prove useful to you. I will not
answer your phone message as I believe the email request and phone request
must be the same matter. If this is not the case, please put a new phone
    message on my voice mail.

    Sincerely,
