  • Summary Medical and clinical engineering dictionary

    Dear Biomech-L
Below please find my original posting and the replies - most of them
suggested the CRC Biomedical Engineering Handbook (which we have) - I
would be grateful to receive further recommendations to books in
alphabetical order like the encyclopedia but less expensive
    thanks

    My original posting was

    Dear Biomech-L
We are looking for a dictionary of biomedical and clinical engineering -
a book that will briefly introduce various topics of medical and
clinical engineering - for example CT, PET, EKG, EMG etc.
Please advice (the budget is up to $400)
A summary of replies will be posted

    Hi Hagai
I assume you know the "Hand book of Biomedical Engineering".
I also think that you should post this question in the biomedical
news group, if you haven't done so.
Try also in the biomednet site.

    Hi,

    Here are two titles:

Encyclopedia of Medical Devices & Instrumentation. Vol. 4 03/1988 1st
    ed.
    John G. Webster.
    ISBN 0-471-82936-6 Wiley-Liss Inc., U. S..

(It is getting old fast, and I won't quote the price I have, since your
price quote may vary, but it is expensive.)

    The biomedical engineering handbook /
Boca Raton : CRC Press : IEEE Press, c1995.
    ISBN 0849383463

CRC Handbooks are often useful as well, even some of the vintage
    OP stuff.

    Good luck,

    Patrick Ellis
