In order to provide our Footmodel with muscles and ligaments I need the
3D coordinates of their insertions as well as their lever arm and their
mechanical properties.
The coordinates are the major concern. They should be related to a
coordinate system wich should be identifiable by external body
landmarks. I´ve seen the data from Delp at the ISB webpage and also know
Brands work.
In relation to the mechanical properties I found some more literature.
Anyway there is very little information on specific data of each
structure.
KER, R.F.; BENNET, M.B.; BIBBY, S.R.; KESTER, R.C.; ALEXANDER,
R.McN.“The spring in the human foot.”(1987) Nature 325 (8), p.147-149
That´s a very good article.
KITAOKA, H.B.; LUO, Z.P.; GROWNEY, E.S.; BERGLUND, L.J.; AN,
K.N.“Material properties of the plantar aponeurosis.” (1994) Foot &
Ankle 15 (10), p.557-560
Is one of the few articles I found referring specifically to mechanical
properties of foot structures.
ATTARIAN, D.E.; McCRACKIN, H.J.; DeVITO, D.P.; McELHANEY, J.H.;
GARRET,W.E. “Biomechanical characteristics of human ankle ligaments.”
(1985) Foot & Ankle 6 (2), p. 54-58
Is other of my main sources of information.
I would really appreciate any leads were to look at (maybe other
keywords to use in medline).
I planned to take a look at the "Human project" but haven´t done for now
.. is there a realistic chance to get the information (coordinates)
from there?
I´ll post a summary of the replies.
Thanks a lot in advance.
