  • FATIGUE AND RUNNING MECHANICS

    Dear Biomech-L Readers,

Our physiology and motor behavior labs are currently discussing
the possibility of examining the effects of fatigue on running pattern.
We have read several mechanical perspectives on long distance running
in order to get an idea concerning which variables (kinematic) are most
commonly associated with running pattern. There seem to be a
number of variables (angular displacement/velocity at joints, vertical
oscillation of CG, etc) which are common to an analysis of running
patterns. Our question is - Which variables would most likely change as
subjects fatigue? Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Dan Southard
