POSITION: ERGONOMIST 1

SALARY: $4047-5179 per month (range 64)
LOCATION
There are two positions available at the Department of Labor and Industries'
Central Office in Tumwater, WA (located just a few minutes south of Olympia,
the state capital). Enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest
without the hassles of Seattle traffic.
DUTIES
One position is with Policy and Technical Services, and will assist field
staff with consultation and compliance activities, which includes assessing
workplace hazards and developing recommendations for control measures. The
position will also help develop technical assistance and educational
materials on general and industry specific ergonomics topics.
Another position is with Training and Outreach, and provides opportunities
to work with industry and labor groups to develop general and industry
specific workshops, training materials and publications. This position will
also be responsible for giving presentations around the state, updating and
maintaining the ergonomics web site, and helping to coordinate ergonomics
presentations at the annual Governor's Industrial Safety and Health
Conference.
Both positions will work closely with a growing team of ergonomists in
developing solutions to workplace causes of musculoskeletal disorders in a
wide variety of industries.

REQUIREMENTS
A Master's degree in mechanical, industrial or civil engineering, industrial
hygiene, work physiology or closely related field with specialty in
ergonomics.
AND
One year of experience in occupational ergonomics or industrial engineering.
