    Post Doctoral Research Fellows in Biomechanics, Physiology of Exercise and
    Exercise Psychology (3 posts)

    The Sport Science Research Institute is a new research institute of Sheffield
    Hallam University. It offers research and consultancy services based on
    experienced staff led by Professors Roger Bartlett (Director), Edward Winter
    and Ian Maynard. We are looking to appoint Post Doctoral Researchers in
    Biomechanics, the Physiology of Exercise and Exercise Psychology.

    With a proven track record of publications, you will be expected to lead
    developments in your area of research. You should be a member of BASES or
    equivalent professional body, preferably be accredited, have excellent
    interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with external
    agencies and possess a flexible attitude to the demands of the role. You should
    be prepared to participate in the development of applications for research
    grant funding and deliver consultancy services and you may also be required to
    supervise students working towards higher degrees. You may also be expected to
    do some teaching at final year undergraduate and masters levels.

    In Biomechanics, you will be expected to lead research in the Biomechanics of
    sports injury and to liaise with researchers in sport medicine in Sheffield.
    Some experience in this area may be preferred, although a flexible research
    background will also be considered.

    The main focus of the appointment in the Physiology of Exercise will be
    biochemical aspects of health and fitness. You will contribute to the
    development of the Institute s new physiology and biochemistry laboratories.
    It is also anticipated that you will have experience of a broad range of
    analytical procedures.

    The main focus of the appointment in Psychology will be in exercise. You will
    be expected to lead research in that area and deliver a corporate or individual
    consultancy service.

    Interviews will be held on 13th December (Biomechanics) and 14th December
    (Physiology and Psychology). Candidates with sufficient experience and
    standing may be appointed to the Senior Research Fellow (senior lecturer)
