The Western Australian Institute of Sport is seeking the services of a
biomechanist within the Institute's Sport Science Department. WAIS is
based in Perth Western Australia within a purpose built facility at the
State Sports Center. The institute currently employs 50 fulltime staff
in the areas of coaching, science, technology and administration with
the specific focus of maximising the performance potential of Western
Australian elite and potentially elite athletes. The successful
applicant will work within a team of scientists and other support staff
to provide qualititative and quantitative biomechanical services to the
institutes athletes and coaches
Duties:
To provide high quality specialist services to the coaches and athletes
of the Western Australian Institute of Sport. Biomechanical services to
the sports of Athletics, Canoeing and Rowing are currently a priority
for the Institute.
Qualifications & Experience:
An appropriate post graduate qualification and proven practical
experience working with elite coaches and athletes is essential.
Other Considerations:
Employment conditions will be as per the WAIS Workplace Agreement.
Frequent out of hours work and travel may be necessary and a current
drivers licence is essential. The successful applicant must be
available to commence duties early in the New Year.
