    BIOMECHANICS RESEARCH POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

    RESPONSIBILITIES and SKILLS: Candidate will participate in research
    design, data collection, and data analysis (see web cite above for
    previous and current research projects). Highly desirable skills
    include experience working with Motion Analysis Hi RES System and
    Kintrac software, writing computer programs, mathematical muscle
    modeling of the knee and shoulder, computer optimization, and experience

    in fine wire and surface EMG.

    QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have a M.S. or Ph.D. in
    Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields, and have a
    interest in working in Sports Medicine.

    FACILITIES: We have a state of the art human performance laboratory
    (approximately 75 ft in length by 35 ft in width) housed within our new
    Duke Sports Medicine Complex. Our research staff includes individuals
    who specialize in biomechanics, mechanical engineering, exercise
    physiology, orthopaedics, sports medicine, and epidemiology. Primary
    equipment includes a 6-camera (240 Hz) EVa Hi-RES Motion Analysis
    System, a 2 camera (120 Hz) Peak Performance System, 2 AMTI Force
    Platforms, a Noraxon 16 channel telemetry EMG system and 8 channel hard
    wire EMG system (surface and fine wire), a Vista Mini-CPX VO2
    Measurement System (Vacu-Med) with treadmill and two bicycle ergometers,

    a Biodex System, and numerous computers and software.
