ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY --ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, OR FULL PROFESSOR OF MOTOR
BEHAVIOR.
The Department of Kinesiology at Indiana University invites applications and
nominations for a tenure-line position. Duties will include teaching and
research in the area of motor behavior. The salary and nature of the
appointment are commensurate with qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in motor
development and motor learning and control. (2) Additional teaching
assignments will be based on needs of the department and areas of candidate's
expertise. (3) Maintain a funded research program in an area of motor
behavior. (4) Advise undergraduate and graduate students. (5) Direct master's
theses and doctoral dissertations. (6) Provide departmental, school,
university and/or professional service. (7) Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Earned doctorate in kinesiology or related area with an
emphasis in motor learning/control or motor development. (2) Evidence of a
promising record of scholarly research contributions to the refereed
literature. (3) Evidence of the ability to teach effectively at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. (4) Evidence of the ability to pursue and
secure external funding. (5) The capacity and willingness to interact
effectively with faculty of diverse academic backgrounds.
EMPLOYMENT DATE: August 2000
