  • Tissue properties of the small and large intestine

    Hello everyone,

I'm a Dutch PhD-student working on the design of a laparoscopic bowel
grasper. I'm looking for information about tissue properties (such as
allowable stress, shear stress and strain and friction coefficients) of the
bowel, the mesenterium and the small intestines. I'm also wondering if there
is any information available about the stresses and forces which are applied
to the intestines with the presently available instruments. Can anyone tell
me where to find this kind of information (articles, references, etc.)?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hans de Visser
