+++ Invitation +++
We are happy to invite you to the '1st International Symposium on Numerical Simulation in Orthopaedic Biomechanics' - SimOrtho. This is the first announcement and call for abstracts for the symposium to be held from 26th to 27th August 2011 in Rostock, Germany.
In order to account for the growing performance and importance of numerical simulation, the SimOrtho will concentrate on relevant topics of the field of Orthopaedic Biomechanics.
Detailed information on the meeting, topics, venue, abstract submission and more can be found on the symposium website at:
+++Abstract submission+++
Abstract submission is open now and ends on 1st March 2011. Abstracts should consist of not more than 500 words.
+++Topics+++
From Theory to Clinical Practice
- Projects with direct clinical relevance: how to make results from numerical simulation understandable for the clinical applicant.
Implant Failure Evaluation
- Why do implants fail? What mechanisms act and which worst-case-scenarios should be considered?
New Approaches in Numerical Simulation
- Co-simulation of different tools, e.g. multibody-dynamics and finite-element-analysis. New approaches of material modeling, bone remodeling and soft tissue representation.
+++Organisation+++
The meeting is organised by the Biomechanics and Implant Technology Research Laboratory, Department of Orthopaedics, University of Rostock, together with the scientific committee:
+ Prof. Dr. Peter Augat, Murnau, Germany
+ Prof. Dr. med. Dipl.-Ing. Rainer Bader, Rostock, Germany
