The Matthew A. Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center is proud to announce the Inaugural Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Neurotrauma Symposium to be held in Swofford Auditorium, located on the 2nd Floor of the Kenan Football Complex at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on April 29-30, 2011.
The event is jointly sponsored by The School of Medicine, The Department of Exercise and Sport Science, and The Matthew A. Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The purpose of this symposium will be to provide physicians, athletic trainers, and other allied health care professionals with a comprehensive overview of sudden death in sports, and enhance the recognition and management of sport-related neurotraumatic injuries in young athletes.
The information presented at this educational activity should improve your ability to:
• Provide comprehensive, educational updates on preventing sudden death in sports
• Provide comprehensive, educational updates on concussion in youth sports
• Provide diagnostic and management techniques for sport-related neurotraumatic injuries.
• Identify methods to reduce the risks and consequences of sport-related neurotraumatic injuries in young athletes.
Credit Statement
The School of Medicine of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
