An exciting Biomechanics workshop has been organised as part of the upcoming Computer Assisted Orthopaedic surgery conference on Wednesday June 15th in London. The focus of the workshop is orthopaedic surgery from an engineering and surgical point of view. You can register for the workshop without registering for the conference and workshop registration is 85euros.
Speakers have been encouraged to spark arguments with each other and be contraversal so it should be an interesting session from an engineering and surgical point of view.
AGENDA:
Andrew Hopkins (Zimmer):Shoulder biomechanics give engineers headaches
Thomas Gregory (Université Paris Descartes, France): Restoring shoulder biomechanics is a clinical challenge
Edward Valstar (Leiden University, The Netherlands): Has it worked? Measuring post-operative implant performance
Jonathan Jeffers (Imperial College, London, UK): What went wrong with hip resurfacing?
Johan Witt (University College London Hospitals): Deficient biomechanics can cause hip arthritis
Andrew Amis (Imperial College, London, UK): Engineering measurement of knee biomechanics
Gareth Scott (Royal London, UK): Surgical restoration of knee biomechanics
Georges Limbert (Southampton, UK): Modelling knee biomechanics
