  • ESMAC 2012 Congress registration reminder, Stockholm, Sept 10-15

A warm Welcome to 21st Annual Meeting of the European Society of Movement Analysis for Adults and Children.

Reminder that registration for the 2012 ESMAC Congress is now open! See the conference website at www.esmac2012.com

We are proud to announce this year’s keynote speakers:

Tim Theologis, MD PhD, FRCS, Orthopedic surgeon with expertise in children's orthopaedics and neuromuscular disorders. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford

Charlotte Häger, Professor of Physical Therapy at Umeå University in Sweden, with special focus in the field of neurology and musculoskeletal disorders

Hans Forssberg, Professor of basal and clinical neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, with research focus in the interaction between the brain and motor function in children with neurological conditions

And this year’s Baumann lecture will be held by Carlo Frigo, Professor of electronic bioengineering, whose scientific interests are in neurosciences and biomechanics, particularly for neuromuscular control of human locomotion, modelling, biological signals' elaboration, clinical applications of gait analysis techniques, posture analysis, ergonomics

The 2012 ESMAC congress and gait courses will be held in Stockholm on Sept 10-15. Due to the high number and quality of the abstracts, we plan for an outstanding scientific program.

    The Congress
The annual ESMAC meeting attracts clinicians and researchers from multiple disciplines such as orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, pediatricians, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, as well as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, biomechanical/electrical/medical engineers, and others interested in human movement. Any clinical professional or academic with an interest in the following areas will consider attending the conference an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
    • Outcomes after clinical intervention
    • Functional outcome measures in mobility
    • Biomechanical analysis of gait and motor disorders
    • Foot kinematics
    • Foot pressure distribution
    • Musculoskeletal imaging methods
    • Computational modeling of human movement
    • Technical developments
    • Gait deviation indices
    • Quality Reliability

    Scope of conference

The purpose of the meeting is to stimulate and advance scientific knowledge, promote professional interaction and collaboration among society members, and advance the field of gait and movement analysis in the clinical and research environments.
