  • HeartPrint Webinar:Physical models for bench testing, communication & surgery planning

On October 11 and October 12, Materialise will host an informative one-hour free webinar on the application areas of 3D Printing in the cardiovascular market.
We will talk about the advantages of using 3D printed physical models in both biomedical R&D as well as clinical markets. For R&D applications, the focus will be on anatomically correct bench top modeling. We will also touch upon on how these models are used in the field today to pre-plan for cardiac surgeries and interventions for clinical applications.
    • Axel Krieger, PhD will be speaking from Childrenís National Medical Center in Washington DC (which is ranked as one of the nationís best pediatric hospitals) about how his team of Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons use 3D printed models of valvular and VSD defects for pre-surgical planning from echo data.
    • A Materialise HeartPrint expert will be sharing case studies of 3D printed cardiovascular models. He will share the case description, what made that case unique and challenging, and the value the model brought to each project. The cases covered will include the following:
    • AAA benchtop testing model for endovascular stent graft design
    • Congenital heart disease model for pre-surgical planning
    • Realistic model of cardiovascular anatomy demonstrating device fit
