  • CMBBE 2013 Request for Abstracts Integrative Systems Modeling of Physical Performance

There is going to be a Special Session on Integrative Systems Modeling of Physical Performance (Session 17) for the Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering (CMBBE 2013) Conference in Salt Lake City (April 3-6, 2013). There will be 4-5 talks, each 12 minutes long. This special session will bring together researchers in industry, government, and academia to present research on computational modeling of physical performance. The session will provide ongoing and new perspectives on modeling efforts that describe how fatigue (both central and peripheral fatigue), physiology (including but not limited to energetics/metabolism and thermoregulation), biomechanics, models of functional adaptation to the musculoskeletal system over longer timescales and musculoskeletal injuries can impact the ability to conduct tasks or exercises with applications to athletic performance, military operations, and daily activities or jobs involving repetitive lifting or other motions. This session will be of interest to researchers that are working on integrative models as well as independent components required for prediction of physical performance.

Conference details can be found here:

The abstract deadline is December 14th, with notification of our final decision one month later. If you would like to be considered for this session, please select SSession17 during the submission process.

CMBBE 2013 will be a well-attended event. Thank you for considering CMBBE 2013. Please forward this email to any colleagues or students who you think may be interested.
