  • Symposium on DYNAMICS OF BIOMECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND OTHER EMERGING APPLICATIONS/IDETC

    Dear Colleagues,

As part of the 25th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and
Noise (VIB), 2013 ASME International Design Engineering Technical
Conferences and Computers and Information in Engineering Conferences,
August 4-7, 2013, Portland, OR, USA, we organize
the Symposium on Dynamics Biomechanical Systems and Other Emerging Applications.

We would like to invite you to bring your valuable contribution to the
    Symposium, http://www.asmeconferences.org/idetc2013/
by sending an abstract by January 7, 2013, and the draft paper by
    January 21, 2013.
For additional information please find enclosed the Call for Papers.

Submission should follow the guidelines on the conference website

    CALL FOR PAPERS

    Symposium on
DYNAMICS OF BIOMECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND OTHER EMERGING APPLICATIONS
25th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB)
2013 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and Computers and Information in Engineering Conference
    Portland, Oregon
    4-7 August 2013

The Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS), an integral part of the ASME Design Engineering Division, is organizing a symposium on Dynamics of Biomechanical Systems and Other Emerging Applications. This symposium provides a forum for the dissemination of fundamental and applied research emphasizing the dynamics and vibration of complex systems and systems with integral multiphysics, as well as related topics. Manuscripts are solicited from experimental, computational, and theoretical studies. Submissions from researchers both within and outside of the traditional mechanical engineering community are strongly encouraged. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: (i) Linear and nonlinear dynamics and control of bio-mechanical systems (musculoskeletal, organ, gait, prostheses); (ii) Micro- and nano-scale dynamical bio-systems such as molecular motors; (iii) Fluid-structure interaction in biosystems; (iv) Complex dynamical systems, with engineering-relevant application; (v) Collective behaviors, such as localization and synchronization, which arise in coupled arrays of resonators and oscillators; (vi) Electromechanical systems; (vii) New sensing systems and approaches, (viii) Defense-related vibration and vibroacoustics systems; and (ix) Industry relevant vibration and noise problems. Papers in other related topics are also welcome.
Prospective authors should submit an abstract and a draft paper for review via the IDETC 2013 website (http://www.asmeconferences.org/IDETC2013/index.cfm) by 7 January 2013. Upon acceptance, a final paper should be submitted by 21 January 2013. Final papers will be available on CD-ROM at the meeting.

Sponsored by: Design Engineering Division – TCVS, and Applied Mechanics Division – Technical Committee on Dynamics & Control of Structures and Systems
