    EARLY REGISTRATION OPEN

    The 29th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference in Miami, Florida, organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Florida International University with Technical Co-sponsorship from IEEE EMBS, seeks Abstract submissions for contributed Oral and Poster presentations related to Biomedical Engineering research and education. The Keywords list can help guide your submission. Submission of a 2-page Extended Abstract is optional.

    CONFERENCE INFORMATION:
    The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency (www.miamiregency.hyatt.com) located in the vibrant Miami Downtown, accessible by Metro rail from the Miami International Airport, 15 minutes from South Beach and two miles from the Port of Miami.
    Registration and Reception: May 3, 2013 (evening)
    Main Meeting: May 4 (all day)-May 5, 2013 (morning); Six parallel tracks and a poster session.
    Banquet Dinner: May 4, 2013 (evening)

    Note: One or more authors of the Abstract must be registered for the conference by the early registration deadline for inclusion in the Program book and the Proceedings.

    REGISTRATION:
    Early Meeting Registration Open: February 1, 2013
    Early Meeting Registration Closes: March 22, 2013 (11 PM Pacific Time, USA)
    AWARDS: Student posters and oral presentations at the conference will be judged for prizes awarded at the closing luncheon.

    SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
    Abstracts: 200 word short abstract must be submitted online using the submission portal. The paragraph content should include an Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion and Conclusion are required. Subheadings, figures, tables and references should not be included.
    Optional Extended Abstract: Upto 2 page extended abstracts can be submitted using the template provided at the submission portal. You will be required to upload your original Word document. The extended abstract will be reviewed and published in the Proceedings of the Conference.
