  • NMSBuilder free seminar

    May 10th 2013, 9:00 – 13:00
Room HH-SR04, Medical School, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield

Keynote speaker: Giordano Valente - Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli

NMS Physiome is a project funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) to promote the integration of the two largest research projects focused on personalized, predictive, and integrative musculoskeletal medicine: the Osteoporotic Virtual Physiological Human (VPHOP) funded by the European Union, and the Center for Physics based Simulation of Biological Structures (SIMBIOS) funded by the USA National Institute of Health.

One main objective being achieved within the project is the development of NMSBuilder, a software tool for subjectspecific musculoskeletal modelling, fully integrated with the popular OpenSIM musculoskeletal dynamics software. NMSBuilder represents an efficient framework to process biomedical data, create musculoskeletal multibody models of the musculoskeletal system and dynamic simulations of movement. Different computational tools have been integrated and represent the first complete suite for personalized, predictive and integrative musculoskeletal medicine and related research. In the form of an open-source and userfriendly Graphical User Interface (GUI), NMSBuilder has wide potential for the biomechanical community.

    Programme
09:00 - 10.00: NMSBuilder in the clinical practice
    10.30 - 11.30: NMSBuilder & OpenSim for subject-specific musculoskeletal modelling
    11.45 - 13.00: Q&A and hands on session

You can download the seminar flyer from: https://www.biomedtown.org/biomed_to...NMSBuilder.pdf

The event is public and open to anyone, but those who plan to attend should register from this link: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/6287886237

NMSBuilder and relevant documentation can be downloaded from this Biomed Town page: https://www.biomedtown.org/biomed_to...msbuilder_beta
Participants to the technical sessions (10.30-13.00) are invited to download and try NMSBuilder in advance, so to raise specific questions during the Q&A session. Bring your data with you for hands on support.
