  • 3rd International Patellofemoral Research Retreat

    This is the FINAL Call for Abstracts for the 3rd International Patellofemoral Research Retreat, to be held at the Metropolitan Hotel, Vancouver, Canada, 18-20 September, 2013. Abstracts must be submitted by April 30th, 2013, by midnight PST.

    New this year will be the 1st International Patellofemoral Pain Clinical Symposium, which will take place September 21st, 2013, at the Vancouver General Hospital. This is a unique opportunity for clinicians to hear cutting-edge information from international experts who are actively involved in patellofemoral research. Please pass this information on to clinicians who would be interested in participating in this new and exciting event.

    Purpose
    The aim of the meeting to improve our insight and knowledge concerning:
    1. Natural history of PFP
    2. Factors associated with PFP (local, proximal and distal)
    3. Innovations in rehabilitation of PFP

    Meeting Format
    This will be a 3 day format (18-20 Sept) comprised of keynote speakers, podium and poster presentations, panel discussions and consensus building. In order to facilitate the retreat atmosphere, the meeting will be limited to the first 50 participants. The participants will also serve as moderators of sessions and discussions.

    Clinical Symposium
    In addition, we will host a one day Clinical Symposium, on Saturday 21 September 2013. This will be aimed a health professionals and comprise keynote presentations, consensus 2011 summaries and workshops.

    Location
    Vancouver, Canada is an ideal conference venue in September. The host city for the 2010 Olympic Games, it is a spectacular, safe, and easily accessible city. There are tremendous opportunities to enjoy the outdoor, "West Coast' lifestyle. The conference will take place at the state of the art facilities at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and UBC's Centre for Hip Health and Mobility (CHHM).
