    First Announcement
2014 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics

We are excited to announce that the 38th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) will be held in conjunction with the 7th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB) in Boston, Massachusetts from July 6-11, 2014. The WCB will be held at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston, and is likely to be the largest and most topically diverse biomechanics conference to date. In addition to the ASB, the Canadian Society for Biomechanics, European Society of Biomechanics, and American Society of Mechanical Engineering - Bioengineering Division will all hold their annual meetings in conjunction with the WCB.

Here are a few important points for regular attendees of the ASB annual meeting to make note of:

All attendees, regardless of society affiliation, will register and submit abstracts through the WCB website at http://wcb2014.com. There will not be separate registration or abstract submission for ASB members.

Abstract submission will occur earlier than is typical for the ASB annual meeting. The abstract submission window is November 15, 2013 - January 15, 2014, with notification of acceptance for podium or poster presentation by April 1, 2014.

The WCB program committee will use a “continuous” review process, whereby earlier submitted abstracts will be given higher priority for podium presentation slots.

Details about ASB-specific activities at the WCB will be provided in the coming months. For general questions about the World Congress, please visit the WCB website (http://wcb2014.com) to find appropriate contact information. Also consider signing up for the WCB blog at http://wcb2014.com/congress-blog to receive notification of all deadlines and congress news.

We look forward to seeing you in Boston next July!
