Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Griffith University and the World Scientific Congress of Golf, we would like to invite you to join us on the Gold Coast, QLD, Australia for Golf Science - A World Scientific Congress of Golf.
This will be the first time that this golf-specific international conference will be held in the Australasian region and will be an exciting opportunity for researchers, health professionals and golf coaches to come together to present research, discuss ideas and collaborations and, of course, play some golf on some of the Gold Coast’s most beautiful golf courses. All previous WSCGs have been held at either the home of golf, St. Andrews Scotland or Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
The Golf Science conference (www.wscg2014.com.au) will be held on the Gold Coast from Friday 5th – Sunday 7th September 2014. The conference will feature international and national speakers with a mix of podium and poster presentations, keynote addresses, a lively debate and the traditional and highly competitive “Home vs International” 9 holes of golf. The themes of the conference are The Golfer, Technology & Equipment and Golf Business & Education. Featuring contemporary research, highly regarded presenters and a focus on translating research into practice the conference is sure to be an exciting event for all who attend.
To date, the Organising Committee has been successful in confirming the following keynote speakers:
• Dr Paul Glazier, Research Fellow, Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living, Victoria University, Melbourne.
• Professor Mario LaFortune, Director of Innovation, Nike.
• Professor Senshi Fukashiro, Professor of Biomechanics, The University of Tokyo, Japan.
• Professor Sandy Gordon, Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology, The University of Western Australia.
• Professor Eric Wallace, Director of the Sport & Exercise Sciences Research Institute, University of Ulster, United Kingdom.
Abstract submission is now open and will close March 2014.
