Dear colleagues,
I apologize for multiple cross-postings about BioRob2014:
ANNOUNCEMENT AND FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS BIOROB2014
2014 IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics
(IEEE BIOROB 2014)
August 12-15, 2014, São Paulo, Brazil
The fifth biannual IEEE Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (IEEE BIOROB 2014), sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) will be held from August 12 to 15, 2014, in São Paulo, Brazil. The conference theme is
“Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics Technology for a World without Borders”.
IEEE BIOROB BioRob covers both theoretical and experimental challenges posed by the application of robotics and mechatronics in medicine and biology. The primary focus of Biorobotics is to analyze biological systems from a "biomechatronic" point of view, trying to understand the scientific and engineering principles underlying their extraordinary performance.
PROGRAM: The technical program of IEEE BIOROB 2014 will consist of tutorials/workshops, keynote/plenary speeches, and oral/poster presentations. Papers describing original work on the conference topics are invited. Accepted and presented papers, like previous BIOROB conferences will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted for inclusion into IEEEXplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
TOPICS: BIOROB 2014 invites submissions of high-quality research papers
describing original and unpublished work. The topics include but are not limited to:
+Technology for assisted surgery and diagnosis
+ Biomechatronic and human-centered design
+ Micro/nano technologies in medicine and biology
+ Wearable assistive and augmenting devices
+ Biological systems modeling
+ Biologically-inspired systems
+ Rehabilitation and assistive robotics
+ Human-machine interaction
+ Neuro-robotics
+ Prosthetic devices
Detailed instructions for the preparation and submission of papers can be found at http://www.biorob2014.org
IMPORTANT DATES:
