  • Jan 13 abstract deadline Symposium EMERGING SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS (BIOMECHANICS)

    Dear Colleagues,

    As part of the 26th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and
    Noise (VIB), 2014 ASME International Design Engineering Technical
    Conferences and Computers and Information in Engineering Conferences,
    August 17-20, 2014, Buffalo, NY, USA, we organize
    the Symposium on Emerging Systems and Applications (VIB-9).

    We would like to invite you to bring your valuable contribution to the
    Symposium, http://www.asmeconferences.org/idetc2014/
    by sending:
    an abstract by January 13, 2014, and
    the draft paper by January 27, 2014.

    Submission should follow the guidelines on the conference website

    CALL FOR PAPERS

    Symposium on
    EMERGING SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS (VIB-9)
    26th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB)
    2014 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and
    Computers and Information in Engineering Conference
    Buffalo, NY, USA
    August 17-20, 2014

    The Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS), an integral part of the ASME Design Engineering Division, is organizing a symposium on Emerging Systems and Applications in Dynamic Systems. This symposium provides a forum for the dissemination of fundamental and applied
    research emphasizing the dynamics and vibration of complex systems and systems with integral multiphysics, as well as related topics. Manuscripts are solicited from experimental, computational, and theoretical studies. Submissions from researchers both within and outside of the traditional mechanical engineering community are strongly encouraged. Topics of interest include (but not limited to):

    (i) Linear and nonlinear dynamics and control of BIO-MECHANICAL SYSTEMS (musculoskeletal, organ,
    gait, prostheses);

    (ii) MICRO AND NANO-SCALE DYNAMICAL BIOSYSTEMS such as molecular motors;

    (iii) Fluid-structure interaction in biosystems;

    (iv) Complex dynamical systems, with engineering-relevant application;

    (v) Collective behaviors, such as localization and synchronization, which arise in coupled arrays of resonators and oscillators;

    (vi) Electromechanical systems;

    (vii) New sensing systems and approaches,

    (viii) Defense-related vibration and vibroacoustics systems; and

    (ix) Industry relevant vibration and noise problems.

    Papers in other related topics are also welcome.

    Prospective authors should submit an abstract (January 13) and a draft paper (January 27) for
    review via the IDETC 2014 website http://www.asmeconferences.org/idetc2014/
    Upon acceptance a final paper should be submitted by May 5, 2014. Final papers will be available on CD-ROM at the meeting. Please see the Conference website for a detailed publication schedule

    Sponsored by: Design Engineering Division – Technical Committee on
    Vibration and Sound (TCVS), and Applied Mechanics Division – Technical
    Committee on Dynamics & Control of Structures and Systems (DCSS)
