The Virginia Tech – Wake Forest University Center for Injury Biomechanics and School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences will host the Advanced Technologies and New Frontiers in Biomechanics Symposium on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Arlington, VA.
The symposium is a one-day, all-day conference that showcases research and recent updates on military and brain injury and biomechanics topics. This year’s meeting will focus on Military Injuries, Brain Injuries & Biomechanics. We have speakers from industry, government / military, and academia.
The symposium is an excellent opportunity to see advances in injury understanding. Some examples of this years’ presentations include:
• Biomechanical response to vertical accelerative loading
• Biomechanical Modeling of Blast Induced TBI and Eye Injury
• Trauma prevention and treatment - protecting warfighters and treating the injured.
• Biology and psychology of concussion - rehabilitation
• Biomarkers for TBI, diagnostics and rotational head acceleration measurement
