Presented by: Dr. Lauri Wauters, Cranio-maxillofacial surgeon, University Hospital of Brussels (UZ Brussel), Belgium
Live webinar: Wednesday, September 24, 2014: 10:00 am - 11 am CEST
Re-aired on Monday, September 29, 2014: 11:00 am - noon EST (5:00 - 6:00 pm CET)
Cranio-maxillofacial interventions have an incredible impact on patients’ lives, not only because of the purely functional improvements, but even more so on the personal level, given the clear visibility of the results. Today, complex cases are increasingly planned with 3D technology. Surgeons can simulate different treatment options and plan their surgeries in a user-friendly environment. When needed, patient-specific surgical guides and custom implants can be designed and 3D printed to use in the operating room.
This webinar will feature Dr. Lauri Wauters from the University Hospital of Brussels, Belgium, who will elaborate on one of her recent cases where she used Materialise's Synthes ProPlan CMF and 3-matic software for surgical planning and the design of a patient-specific jaw implant that was produced in porous Ti with 3D Printing. In addition, Materialise will demonstrate how our Mimics Innovation Suite enables cranio-maxillofacial surgeons to improve clinical outcome of their cases with a shorter lead time via 3D surgical planning and patient-specific implant design.
