Dear all,
The 2015 Hand and Wrist Biomechanics International Symposium will be held in Milan, Italy, June 16-17, 2015 in conjunction with the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) 2015 Congress (http://www.fessh2015.org/). Below you can see our tentative schedule of sessions and a list of confirmed speakers and their topics.
Over the past 20 years we have meet as the Triennial Hand and Wrist Biomechanics Symposium in Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Belgium and the USA (http://www.hwbi.org/symposia.html). As the Hand and Wrist Biomechanics International organization, we are now affiliated with the International Society of Biomechanics and the International Federation of the Societies for Surgery of the Hand.
For HWBI 2015, we welcome abstract submissions on all biomechanical aspects of the wrist, fingers, thumb and distal radius. Our meeting will immediately precede the FESSH meeting with some overlap. We are fortunate that the 2nd International Thumb Osteoarthritis Workshop will be part of the HWBI meeting. For more information on the 2015 HWBI symposium please visit our website (http://www.hwbi.org/2015.html). There you can find important dates and abstract submission details. The abstract deadline is January 15, 2015.
We are delighted to announce four scholarships ($500 each) available to medical students, orthopedic residents and fellows and graduate students. The scholarships are sponsored by the International Society of Biomechanics, by the Hand and Wrist Biomechanics International, and by the William H. Seitz, M.D. research fund. If you are an eligible trainee interested in applying for one of these scholarships, please indicate on your abstract submission that you are requesting to be considered.
Registration and accommodations will be handled by the FESSH
We're looking forward to seeing you in Milan!
Frederick W. Werner
