    Dear Colleagues,

    MathSport International 2015 will be hosted at Loughborough University (UK), from the 29th June - 1st July 2015.

    This is the 5th conference in Europe in the biennial series that brings together Mathematics and Sport.

    Topics will include:

    • Econometrics in sport
    • Optimal tournament design and scheduling
    • Competitive strategy
    • Match outcome models
    • Decision support systems
    • Analysis of sporting technologies
    • Analysis of rules and adjudication
    • Performance measures and models
    • Optimisation of sports performance
    • Mathematics education and sport
    • Computationally intensive methods
    • Financial valuation in sport


    Keynote lectures:

    Professor Sigrid Knust (University of Osnabrück): "Construction methods for sports league schedules"

    Dr Ian McHale (University of Manchester): "Identifying the all-time greatest in some sports"

    Professor Tony Purnell (Head of Technology, British Cycling): "Model + Measurement = Medals, but in a non-deterministic way"

    Mr David Kendix (Actuary and cricket statistician): "Modelling uncertainty in finance and sport"



    Important dates:

    Close abstract submissions: 13th February 2015

    Final decisions: 13th March 2015

    Early Bird Registration: 1st May 2015

    Standard Registration: 12th June 2015

    MathSport International 2015: The 5th International Conference on Mathematics in Sport
    29 June — 1 July 2015
    Loughborough, England


    We wish to remind you of the deadline for abstract submission, which is 13th February 2015.

    Contributions will be accepted for the conference based on a 100-300 word abstract, which should be submitted through the following EasyChair website: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=msp2015 .

    Although submitting an abstract will be sufficient for presenting at the conference, we encourage you to submit a proceedings paper as well, even if it describes work in progress.
    Proceedings papers can be submitted (or changed) until 1st May 2015, however, not without having submitted an abstract before 13th February. Notification of acceptance of the abstract will be as soon as possible after this deadline, and certainly no later than 13th March.

    Deadlines:
    Abstract submission: 13 February 2015
    Notification of acceptance: 13 March 2015
    Submission of Proceedings paper: 1 May 2015
    Early registration: 1 May 2015
    Final deadline for registration: 12 June 2015
