The MultiSim Modelathon is drawing ever closer and to ensure you get a spot make sure you register your interest as soon as possible.

Based on the concept of the hackathon events where different teams work on a challenging problem to ‘hack’ a computer code. Here there is no ‘hacking’ but ‘modelling’. The teams will interact with like-minded people and compete to solve a challenging multiscale biomechanical problem within the musculoskeletal system using state-of-the-art techniques and software.

It will provide an amazing opportunity for young specialists working in the area of multiscale modelling. The event is open to all PhD students and Post-doctoral researchers working in the area of biomechanics or image-based computer simulations; and gives participants the chance to really push themselves in the area of engineering.

The event will run over 3 days (Mon 24th - Wed 26th August 2015) and be held at the Ridge, Ranmoor Village, Sheffield. Attendance is only £100, including; all meals, refreshments and accommodation in the Ranmoor Student Village. Travel costs will need to be covered by the participant.

This event is limited to 50 participants and will involve a selection process based on information provided regarding:
  • Your background and expertise – 300 words (max.)
  • What can you bring to the Modelathon – 300 words (max.)

We expect a high level of interest so registrations and enquiries should be made quickly and before 1st April. Feedback will be given to successful applicants no later than 15th April 2015.

We already have some exciting partners confirmed for the event, including; Smith and Nephew, Simpleware, NVIDIA, ANSYS, Simulia and Materialise.
