Call for Papers: The 2015 IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its SOcial impacts
Organized Session on Human Movement Modelling and Rehabilitation Robotics: at the Intersection of Medicine and Robotics Algorithms
Paper Submission deadline: April 9, 2015
================================================== =============================================
The 2015 IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its SOcial Impacts (ARSO 2015) will be held on July 1st – July 3rd, 2015 in Lyon, France.
The field of robotics has often benefitted from the investigation of human movements. Particular inspiration has been drawn to improve mechanical design, motor planning, and motion coordination in automations. Conversely, many problems in kinesiology, orthopedics, and biomechanics have found a solution when using robotics algorithm. Among these problems we find the development of intervention for neuromusculoskeletal disorders via robotic interaction and the improvement of natural human motion via dynamic modelling and simulations. The interface between robotics and human movement science and rehabilitation is highly interdisciplinary. Thus, the interaction between roboticists, modelers, clinicians and neuroscientist is highly desired.
Scope:
This workshop aim is to create an interactive forum encompassing researchers with different background. Attendees will present the latest advances at the intersection of robotics, medicine and human movement science. This will foster the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and will promote the discussion of open problems and required tools to promote this cutting-edge research field.
Submission Guidelines:
Authors should submit papers electronically in PDF format via PaperPlaza at https://ras.papercept.net/conferences/scripts/start.pl by choosing ARSO 2015. Six pages in standard IEEE format are allowed for each paper. Up to two additional pages are permitted with an extra charge. Authors must select “Submit Organized Session Paper” and specify the session code.
In order to get the code and for any further information, please contact Prof. Davide Piovesan (piovesan001@gannon.edu) and/or Dr. Roberto Bortoletto (roberto.bortoletto@dei.unipd.it).
Important Dates:
April 9, 2015: Paper submission
May 4, 2015: Acceptance notification
May 30, 2015: Final paper submission
July 1 – July 3, 2015: Workshop & Exhibition
