In 2016, from July 25-27 the 6th International Conference for Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) together with the 10th Team games symposium of the German Society of Sport Science will be held at the German Sport University in Cologne, Germany.
The conference will provide a unique opportunity for practitioners to interact with scientists from a diverse field of Sport science disciplines including Sport Pedagogics, Sport Didactics, Sport Psychology, Sport Informatics, and Exercise and Movement Science. Adhering to the tradition of blending sport science and sports practice, the German Sport University Cologne, the only Sports University in Germany, will thereby provide the perfect venue for a unique conference experience.
The conference features an opening lecture by Prof. Joy Butler (University of British Columbia), key notes by Prof. David Kirk (University of Strathclyde), Dr. Peter O’Donoghue (Cardiff Metropolitan University), Prof. Henning Plessner (University of Heidelberg) and invited talks by Hansi Flick (DFB), Prof. Duarte Araújo (University of Lisbon), Prof. Damian Farrow (Victoria University), Dr. Philip Furley (German Sport University Cologne), Dr. David Gutiérrez Díaz del Campo (University of Castilla-la Mancha), Prof. Amy Ha (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Dr. Stephen Harvey (West Virginia University), Prof. Stefan König (University of Education Weingarten), Prof. Karen Richardson (Bridgewater State University), and Prof. Andrea Schmidt (Osnabrück University)
