    Call for Tutorials and Clinical Symposia
    The Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society invites proposals for tutorials and symposia to be presented at the 2018 Annual Conference to be held May 21-26 at Crowne Plaza-Downtown Indianapolis at Union Station in Indianapolis, Indiana. http://www.gcmas.org/2018_annual_conference

    All proposals will be reviewed and selected for tutorials by the GCMAS Education Committee. Proposals that align with topics outlined by the Program Chair will be selected for symposia by the Conference Program Committee. Creative proposals in all areas of clinical movement analysis are welcome. We highly encourage tutorial proposals on topics such as:
    · Pro/con debates
    · Scapular, upper extremity, trunk motion capture
    · EMG processing methods
    · Wheelchair movement analysis
    · Static and dynamic balance measurements
    · Brain imaging during functional tasks
    · Measurement other than motion analysis (e.g., metabolics, physical activity, pressure)
    · Big data research/machine learning
    · OpenSim and musculoskeletal modeling
    · Concussion or PTSD evaluation
    · ACL injury, rehab, and surgical interventions
    · Clinical sport protocols
    · Orthotic prescription for neurological disorders and gait disturbances
    · Prosthetic components and how they function
    · Orthopedic/surgical outcomes for healthcare providers (treatment decision making)
    · Research designs including single-subject designs
    · Newer statistical analyses
    · CMLA accreditation/best practices for accreditation
    · Establishing collaborations between clinicians and researchers
    · Setting up a successful gait lab (trials and tribulations to avoid)
    · Mentoring or other professional development topics

    Guidelines for Proposals:

    Tutorials have historically been 2 hours in length and scheduled on the Tuesday of the conference. However, different schedules are being considered for the 2018 meeting.

    Proposals should include the following sections: title, instructor(s), purpose, intended audience, prerequisite knowledge, abstract, and outline of course content. A learning objective will be required on the submission page, please see below. Proposals are limited to two double-spaced pages, Times New Roman 12-pt font. Each proposal must include the name and contact information (including email address) of each speaker. This information will be required during the online submission. Each speaker listed on the abstract will be required to complete an online disclosure statement for CME/CEU accreditation. The link to this online disclosure will be sent out after acceptance.

    Learning Objectives:

    Timeline:
    Deadline for Submission: December 17, 2017, 11:59 pm EST
    Notification of Acceptance: February 2018

    Compensation:
    Instructors of each selected tutorial are awarded one free registration (including banquet ticket) to the 2018 Annual Conference.
