  • International Shoulder Group (ISG) 2018 at Mayo Clinic-Call for Abstracts

    CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
12th Conference of the International Shoulder Group
    August 12-13, 2018
    Mayo Clinic
    Rochester, MN

The 2018 ISG abstract submission website will open on January 10th, 2018, with abstracts being accepted until 11:59 PM CST on March 2nd, 2018. Abstract acceptance notification will occur in April 2018.

The 12th Conference of the International Shoulder Group will be held August 12-13, 2018 in Rochester, MN on the Mayo Clinic campus. The meeting will be held immediately after the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) meeting to promote cross-over in attendance. The organizers of ISG encourage the submission of abstracts on the entire spectrum of shoulder-related research and clinical application, including but not limited to glenohumeral kinematics/kinetics, clinical case studies, rehabilitation, ergonomics, musculoskeletal and orthopedic mechanics, prosthetics, cellular, molecular and tissue mechanics, imaging, motor control, computational modeling and simulation, and sports. The program will include an anticipated 7 podium sessions and 1 poster session, lab tours, and keynote lectures by prominent women in the field of Shoulder Biomechanics, including Dr. Katherine Saul (North Carolina State University), Dr. Lori Michener (University of Southern California), and Dr. Wendy Hurd (Mayo Clinic). Meeting information is available through the meeting website (http://www.ce.mayo.edu/ISG2018), including links for the abstract template and submission (opening on January 10th, 2018), and meeting registration. Diversity travel awards and Best Paper and Poster award information will be updated prior to the opening of Registration.

Abstracts must conform to the formatting and other requirements indicated in the downloadable submission guidelines and abstract template document (available in Word Format). The abstract is limited to one page.

Authors of abstracts presented at the ISG meeting will also have the opportunity to submit full articles following the conference, which will be peer-reviewed and published in a special issue of Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology (JEK).

The International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) kindly awards a number of travel grants for students seeking to attend technical group meetings in 2018. For further details and application requirements, see ISB student grant guidelines (https://isbweb.org/students/student-grants)

We look forward to seeing you in Rochester!
