Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2018 South Central American Society of Biomechanics (SCASB) meeting! This year’s meeting will be held on Thursday March 15 and Friday March 16 at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. We have two excellent keynote speakers this year – Dr. Anne Silverman from Colorado School of Mines, and Dr. Lee Childers from the Center for the Intrepid.
The goals of the 2018 SCASB meeting are to:
1. To provide a low‐stress environment where students can practice presenting their research and receive constructive feedback.
2. To foster research collaborations between biomechanists in the South Central United States and beyond.
3. To encourage membership in the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB).
We highly encourage submissions from undergraduate and graduate students representing all areas of biomechanics. This conference is meant to provide a friendly and supportive venue where students can practice their presentation skills and receive valuable feedback on their research. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: gait, posture and balance, rehabilitation engineering, ergonomics, musculoskeletal and orthopedic mechanics, prosthetics, orthotics and exoskeletons, cellular, molecular and tissue mechanics, comparative biomechanics, motor control, computational modeling and simulation, sports and teaching.
Please visit the conference website (https://scottishritehospital.org/events/scasb) for more details about abstract submission, conference schedule and location. General questions about the meeting or venue should be directed to Kirsten Tulchin-Francis, PhD (Kirsten.Tulchin-Francis@tsrh.org).
We look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
