Call for Late Breaking Abstracts The organizing committee of the 2018 meeting of the Canadian Society for Biomechanics is pleased to announce a limited call for Late Breaking Abstracts for inclusion in this year's meeting. Abstract submissions are now being accepted (June 8, 2018) until Wednesday, June 20, 2018. |
Late Breaking Abstracts are designed to highlight significant research findings that emerged after the original submission deadline. Late Breaking Abstracts should not include any research that has been previously presented or published, or included in any other previously submitted abstracts to CSB 2018. |
Please prepare your abstract according to our original guidelines, and submit electronically through the Abstract Submission Portal by June 20, 2018 at 11:59 pm (Atlantic Time). |
We have updated our website to showcase the highlighted speakers coming to CSB 2018. Our ISB and CSB sponsored keynotes include Dr. Janet Ronksy from Calgary University and Dr. Irene Davis from Harvard Medical School and the Spaulding National Running Center. We have also finalized an impressive speaker line up for our symposia. Topics include Osteoarthritis and Biomechanics, Occupational Biomechanics, Human Locomotion, Skeletal Tissue Mechanics, along with our public symposia sponsored by CCM! Check out the speakers page to get more information on the speakers and their talks.
All attendees chosen for either poster or podium presentations must register for the conference before July 1, 2018. All other attendees are also encouraged to register by this date to receive the early bird rates in effect until July 1st, 2018. |
We also highly encourage accommodations to be booked as early as possible at the conference hotel, the Westin Nova Scotian, as August is a very busy tourism season in Halifax and Nova Scotia. Please use this conference booking link to get the discounted conference rate, which can also be found on our website. |

All poster presenters will have a maximum space of 4 ft. x 4 ft. to display their poster, however, we recommend a poster slightly smaller than this to allow other material, such as handouts, to be pinned to the board if desired. Please prepare your poster so that it can be viewed from a distance of 3 feet. We also recommend: |
- Keeping text to a minimum and ensure large font
- Use graphs, charts, and/or tables
- Ensure content has a logical flow
- Make it colourful
Removal of posters at the end of the display period is the responsibility of the author(s). Posters not removed by the deadline will be disposed of by meeting staff. |
The submitters of all accepted posters will be contacted in the near future with the details of the poster presentation time slots. |
We are extremely pleased to announce that we have a number of committed sponsors and exhibitors for CSB 2018. Checkout our Exhibitors Page and our social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter, to see who we have lined up to attend CSB 2018 so far. To make this the best possible meeting for all, we are continuing to reach out and offer numerous opportunities for sponsors to be involved and show their support through sponsoring of events, keynote speakers, symposiums, social networking events, and workshops. If you are interested in being a sponsor, an exhibitor, or know of a company that might be interested, please email scott.landry@acadiau.ca.
If you have any questions regarding the organization or content of the program, you can contact one of the co-chairs by email. |
We look forward to welcoming you to Halifax in August! |
Sincerely,
|
