Dear colleagues,

Professor Peter Milburn will be retiring at the end of June following 50 years of work in the Biomechanics field.

Peter completed his PhD at the University of Illinois in 1982, and has since held academic positions at the University of Otago, University of Wollongong and Griffith University, and in all institutions, served periods as head of department, taking a leading role in the development and expansion of all programs.

Peter is very well known in the international Biomechanics community for his research on injury prevention and for his outstanding service to the discipline. He served on the ISB Executive from 2005-2012, hosted the ISB Congress In Dunedin in 2003 and the Footwear Biomechanics Symposium in 2017, and was elected an inaugural Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics in 2015.

A series of farewell events have been organised for Peter over the coming weeks. If you have a message for Peter, or a story or anecdote about Peter that you would be willing to share, we would be most grateful if you could forward them to us so that we may pass them on to Peter.
