EXTENSION TO DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS!
    New deadline - Oct 19th @ 5pm!

    Trent International Prosthetics Symposium 2019

We are delighted to announce that the Trent International Prosthetics Symposium (TIPS) 2019will be held in Manchester, UK between March 20th and March 22nd 2019.

Following the success of the TIPS 2016 in Glasgow, we welcome experts from engineering, neurosciences, medicine, prosthetics and other allied health professions to join us in Manchester to focus on the challenges of designing and fitting better upper limb prostheses, supporting people with upper limb difference and evaluating outcomes. We are putting together a stimulating scientific programme, as well as offering an exciting programme of social activities.

The theme of TIPS2019 is "Moving beyond the lab". Until very recently, we have been largely limited to studying upper limb prosthetics in lab or clinical environments. Such an approach is clearly of value, but the acid test for any assistive device is whether or not a user chooses to use the device in their everyday life. We are now beginning to see studies exploring real world use of prostheses and the results are opening up exciting opportunities to understand the complex mix of design, clinical and personal factors which may lead to a prosthesis which is of real value to the patient in their everyday lives.

The call for papers is now open!
