  • Munich Symposium for Experimental Orthopedics,Trauma Surgery&Musculoskeletal Research

On February 28th and March 1st 2019 will be held the IX. Munich Symposium for Experimental Orthopedics, Trauma Surgery and Musculoskeletal Research (IX. Münchener Symposium für Experimental Orthopädie, Unfallchirurgie und Muskuloskelettale Forschung), with a focus on endoprostheses and alternatives – for the occasion, we invite contributions on this topic. Matters of interest include for example how biomechanical and biological factors can affect the clinical outcomes, with considerations related to prosthetic designs, biological therapies and rehabilitation. Also of interest is the development of new methodologies that may improve our understanding of the effects of disease and treatment on the musculoskeletal system, as well as research that aims at providing implants or biological therapies designed to better restore joint function.

As for the previous symposia, this symposium is the perfect venue for discussing new methodologies and research findings, and further establish new collaborative ideas between the different workgroups. It also offers the chance to increase the synergy between the clinical and fundamental research, in regenerative medicine and biology, engineering and industrial fields, and learn about recent advances in regenerative medicine for bone and cartilage, biomechanics of healthy, diseased and replaced joints, fracture treatments and new approaches in numerical simulation.

The event will take place at the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Stiftung in Munich, Germany. There are no conference fees to attend this event.
The event will be primarily held in German as the main language, however with a few English presentations. Non-German speakers are also welcome to submit abstracts and hold talks in English.

The deadline for Abstracts submission is January 28th (12:00pm local Munich time).
Please submit you abstract to: muenchner-symposion@med.uni-muenchen.de
