The De Luca Foundation is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 App Development Competition is Prof. Bart Jansen of Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Using a 2-Sensor Trigno Avanti Mobile System kindly provided by Delsys, Inc., Prof. Jansen and his team developed “Ghostly,” a game-based rehabilitation app for patients with motor and neuromuscular disorders.
For developing a robust app with clear intentions for rehab usage and an entertaining user experience, Prof. Jansen will receive a total cash award of $7,500.00 USD.
The “Ghostly” app will be made publicly available for free download on the De Luca Foundation’s website. Learn more about Prof. Jansen and the “Ghostly” app here: https://www.delucafoundation.org/act...winner-jansen/.
This is the first year of the App Development Competition, which provides a chance to win equipment and cash awards by developing EMG-centric applications for mobile devices with real-world viability. We hope that the establishment of this competition will encourage forward-thinking teams to utilize sensor technology in new and unique ways for EMG-driven patient care solutions.
Please keep an eye out for announcements regarding future competitions and opportunities in 2020.
Sincerely,
De Luca Foundation
